We've created this page to share the measures we're taking to keep the children, families and our staff members safe during the Covid-19 outbreak.
We are grateful for your continued trust and confidence in Capital Royal Childcare. We will get through this situation by working together and remaining focused on doing the right things. Hence, we are taking the following actions:
Daily Health Check: We assess all students and staff every morning by questioning to determine that they are free from COVID-19 symptoms, other contagious illnesses, and that they are well enough to be on-site.
Daily Temperature Screening (By Center): We do temperature check each morning for each child and staff that enters the building. Any staff or child who has a fever of 100 degrees or above will not be allowed in the building.
Daily Temperature Screening (By Parents): We recommend that all parents/guardians to take their child's temperature before bringing their children to the daycare.
Frequent Hand-washing: All students and staff entering the building must either wash their hands or sanitize their hands after their daily health check is conducted. Throughout the day, all children wash their hands at least once every two hours.
Face Covering: We have provided all staff with face coverings that are worn while in direct contact with children and other team members throughout the day. Parents can choose to send their child with a mask if the child is 2 years of age or older and free from respiratory issues.
Face covering for parents: All parents entering the building must wear a face mask or drop of their children at the front door. A front door attendant will help walk children who are dropped off at the front door to their classrooms.
Cleaning and Sanitizing: As a licensed child care program, we are always required to have a system in place to keep our program clean. In these times, we have gone above and beyond with our practices. We clean our toys every day. We are stocked up with EPA-registered disinfectants.
Symptom Isolation: Should any child become ill and demonstrate symptoms of COVID-19 while in our care, the child's parents will be called to pick them up immediately. They will be separated from the rest of the children and supervised by a staff member independently until they are picked up.
Nap time Procedure: We ensure that children's naptime mats/cots (or cribs) are spaced out as much as possible, ideally 6 feet apart.
Nap time Procedure: During nap time, We all also place all children head to toe in order to further reduce the potential for viral spread.
Doctor's Notes: Any child or staff who has a fever or any respiratory infection symptoms cannot return to our program until they are symptom-free for at least 48 hours and have a doctor's note clearing them to return.
Personal Protective Equipment: We have stocked up on enough personal protective equipment for our staff to utilize as needed. This equipment includes gloves, masks and even gowns.
